Our daughter Catherine was involved in a late rehearsal downtown, and we had to bring her some food, then kill some time until she finished. So Joan and I walked along Flora Street, down to the Crow Collection, which was open late tonight. Although we visit the Crow fairly frequently — it’s one of Dallas’s real treasures — I hadn’t been aware that it’s currently exhibiting photos from Tibet by Marc Riboud, one of the French greats.
Saw Riboud’s first camera, and his Leica (which curiously seems to have a Pentax strap). And got a chance to view a handful of quite wonderful photographs. And then they turned off the lights and I had to leave. I’ll be going back.
